Fine Furniture has the largest selection of mid- to high-end fine furniture in all of South Florida.  As the largest furniture manufacturer in the world, Fine Furniture carries the largest selection of whole home furniture and home furnishings, and one of the largest furniture dealer in the United States.

Certainly, among the most reputable names in the furniture industry in the United States, we carry a variety of elegant, classic, contemporary collections, along with modern and urban styles, to satisfy the most demanding customer needs and discerning tastes in the home store and furnishing marketplace.

Of course, we would love to name them by name, but there are some rules and guidelines by the company that restrict their use online.  So, we will always follow the rules.

Also, true, there may be an envious salesperson, or two, out there, who see you selling a ton, and try to put obstacles on your road.  Oh, well.  In a really great, “family”-like sales organization, with a great leadership team, some attitudes and behaviors simply can’t thrive.  But you know what does thrive and what does win?  Sales numbers, baby.  Show me your numbers on the board, and I will see if you really are a million dollar writer, or else, the world can see your tricks, and one day you won’t have a place in our winning team and won’t be selling here.

Fair is fair.  Most of our sales advisors are amicable and friendly, and honestly, do have great collegiate and cooperative attitudes with each other, although, yes, indeed, you may find sales groups or organizations out there where they do tricks and backstabbing to each other, and ugly things like in a car dealership, where the bad wrap is well earned.

No, that is not what we have in our store.  To quote our great manager: “we have a FAMILY here.”  I believed it the day he hired me.  I hope it stays that way.

Anyway, coming back to our collections, the good news is, we sell whatever you’re looking for.  Yes, when it comes to furniture, we know furniture.  We build furniture.  We sell furniture.  All types, sizes, models, styles, colors, epochs, lines, and collections.  Onsite, in our beautiful showroom, or online, chances are we carry what you like.  Give us the opportunity to find it, and we will sell it to you.

The better news is that, your search is over!  Yes, the search is over!  You have now arrived at Fine Furniture by the hand of Ricardo Trelles.  That’s me.  And that’s a good thing you come here accompanied by someone professional and knowledgeable, because I am also an honest man.  Not perfect, no, and yes, maybe a couple of pounds overweight, alright, I admit it, but an honest man, and in this business of sales, in any business in general, but in sales, particularly, Honesty and Credibility are extremely important, because it hasn’t always been that way in past decades.

I am an honest business man, and the first thing you have in your mind is:  how is this guy going to “stick it to me with his/their high commission profits”?   Well, as I said before, Honesty is important to me, because by being honest, I build rapport with my customers much faster than others, others who lurk around lying about price, features, options, financing, or simply misleading a potential buyer on important data, or whatever else, you name it, just to get you to sit down and get you to hear their pep talk, and buy something you don’t need.

I am honest whether in the capacity of college professor–which I was for about 15 years–or as sales consultant–which I also have been for about 20 years of my life, in Cuba, South Florida, and other locations.  As a FINE FURNITURE Mattress and Furniture Sales Consultant, this is my promise.  I will treat you with:

  • Respect, in the same way I would want others to treat me, with respect
  • Honesty, because I like the truth, and not getting misled or lied to
  • Fairness, mattresses and furniture are not free, we know that, but overpricing is not fair

Salaried or commissioned?

There is no secret that in the world of sales, most sales persons are compensated on or according to a commissions-based scale.  There is nothing wrong with that.  If a sales person is able and willing to accept the challenge, the reality is that most products do sell, and most commissioned sales agents, in whatever their field is, would take home a decent pay package.  Generally speaking, however, the commissions-only sales agent is going to be an individual with a rather aggressive attitude, because if the deal is not closed right then and there, then he/she will not collect his/her pay.

Now, not everyone is compensated on a commissions-structure basis.  As Trusted Advisors at Fine Furniture, we assign more importance to having the best, most knowledgeable consultants in the business of furniture, and therefore, have worked extensively in creating a friendly environment where providing our customer with the knowledge base and all related options, including financing options, becomes the priority, so that, under no pressure, our customers feel at ease and understand the specific details and features of their future mattress and furniture, and can make a reasonably fast, and most of all, do it in a comfortable environment, just as if they were having an after-dinner cafecito, or a cup of wine with friends, right at the kitchen island.

Having said all that, I’m a fighter, and I am an aggressive sales consultant too, when I have to be.  But I am not an aggressive shark, out there in front of the customers, or chasing them all around the store, lurking on the shadows, ready to “bite” you.  No, no, no, qué va. Oh, no, nothing like that.

I believe in Freedom, and when you know me and meet me in person, at the showroom, you will soon realize I’m not a make-believe, Hollywood-aspiring, empty-mind dreamer, but rather, a real person, with real, attainable dreams, with concrete aspirations, and with a past of professional and personal success achieved through intelligence, dedication, study, hard work, perseverance, and personal efforts.

And I am a man who believes in Freedom, and in your right to information.  My best customers buy their brand new mattress and furniture from me at Fine Furniture because they have the information others may have denied them upfront.  And they have realized that it’s good and healthy to do business with someone you know and trust.  That’s why it is so important for me to understand your needs, confirm your preferences, and help you find, together, your new mattress and furniture, without the constant pressure of a commissions-hungry frenzy of “sharks” on the sales floor of those other stores, other competitors.

Rather, we want you to take the time necessary to browse through our large showroom, so that we present to you, with our knowledge of product and our experience selling these products, always putting your needs, your wants, and your schedule, as the priority for customer satisfaction, in order to find the mattress and furniture package that fits your current needs and budget appropriately.

Understanding dimensions and options  

You said you wanted choices?  OK, alright, I hear you.  Well, here you are.  A 75,000 square feet full of beautiful furniture.  Got comfy shoes?  We’re going to walk a bit in our gorgeous furniture store.

It is smart to familiarize yourself with some of the items we sell, before you visit with us at the store.  At times, dimensions look perfect on paper, or in a website photo, but when you see them in front of you, at the store, they may be too large, or too small.

In our showroom, spaces are substantially different than in the typical house.  We have tall ceilings, very tall ceilings, and large, open spaces, with plenty of bright illumination on the furniture and on and across most spaces on the floor.

When the furniture you choose and purchase is finally delivered, it sometimes, many times will look like a “huge” sofa, or a “huge” sectional, or a “huge” bed, or a “huge” piece of furniture, because your home may not have all the intense, full-bodied illumination we use in the showroom, nor is your ceiling that tall, or your living room space so open or ample.

So, bear that in mind.  What you see in our showroom may look a bit on the larger side when we deliver it to your home.

When to visit  

I usually take Mondays and Tuesdays off.

I repeat, these are my days off:  Monday OFF.  Tuesday OFF.

This leaves me the whole rest of the week, including Saturday and Sunday, to be at the store from 11 am or 12 pm all throughout closing time, at 7 or 8 pm.

While all of our sales guys and gals are knowledgeable in our products and ready to sell you any mattress or furniture, the truth is that I would like to be the one to present to you our best mattresses and furniture from our extensive product line, and explain in detail, while showing you the specific living room, dining room, bedroom, mattress, adjustable base, mattress protector, etc., or how the product works.

So I would prefer to meet with you at the store.  I am usually in the store in the afternoons.  If you have visited with us already, and for any availability reason or any other reason, could not purchase the items at that moment, then I would like you to call me, and I can make sure that I will be there when you visit again, either to make a payment, or to finalize the deal.

I will be honest: I also want to get credit for the sale.  Fair is fair.  If I work hard to make it happen for you, I also want to make sure I can pay my bills.  Would that be fair?

Most sales organizations out there work on a compensation structure that includes commissions.  We do get credit for the sale, as individual sales associates, and this ultimately affects your rating, in term of performance measurement.

So, if you come looking for me, please, insist in asking for Ricardo.  If I am not there, you may work with some of our partners, and if you complete the sales, please, request that I be given due credit for generating the lead, the visit, and the interest in Fine Furniture.

But again, if you visit Wednesday through Sunday, it will be better, because I am at the store all those days.  Since I take Monday OFF, and Tuesday OFF, you may use that time to re-measure your spaces before visiting us.  Yes, sometimes customers need to measure, or “think” about it, or consult with their significant others, etc., and I do respect your choices.  So, talk it over with the family, and come back on a Wednesday afternoon through Sunday afternoon, and I will gladly help you complete this fine furniture acquisition for you and your family.

I also think that in a free country, you do have the freedom to buy that furniture from a competitor, and if you end up buying it from me, it’s because we gave you a better price, and in the end, I went the extra, extra mile to provide the answers you needed, helped you understand features and benefits of the mattress + lifestyle base, features and benefits of the specific furniture you choose, measuring spaces, delivery options, extended protection, etc., and made your visit a pleasant one, making your time to visit and learn and research your mattress, furniture acquisition worthwhile.

So please, DO ASK FOR RICARDO at the front.  Insist in calling me. That is how a commissions-based job works.  I am not revealing company secrets.  Oh, no.  This is how ANY and ALL commissions-based sales organizations work, in the whole world!

When I work hard to make it happen for you, I also want to get paid for my hard work.  Thank you for understanding that.   And THANK YOU for giving me the opportunity to assist you in your new mattress and fine furniture purchase.

DO INSIST in finding me, Ricardo (Wednesday through Sunday, again, one more time, I am off on Mondays and Tuesdays), so that we can finalize the deal.  Otherwise, someone will insist in helping you, and take your payment or write the order, and then, sadly, the hour, or the couple of hours of demonstration that I may have spent with you, showing you the mattresses or furniture, how they work, explaining the features and benefits, the extended protection plan, and the financing options, and everything that selling mattress and furniture entails, will have been time wasted, and sadly, maybe unfairly, time, effort, and energies wasted in a task that did not even return a credit for the sale developed.  It may even sound unfair, but it is the reality, and it is what it is.  So I treat it like it is.

Once again, thank you for the courtesy of calling me beforehand, if possible, when you return to finalize the deal and purchase your mattress and furniture.  And thank you for your business!

I can tell you what mattress were sold in the Caribbean and Latin America during the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and all those decades until today.

But the most important part of our conversation is not about me, or about what mattress our parents or grandparents had, but rather, what mattress you need now, and what mattress can fill your current body build, body weight, sleeper type, and budget allowances you have for this important project which is to keep your back pain in check, and improve you overall healthy sleep status.

I have been fortunate to travel to so many beautiful places.  But I have to say, this one takes one of the top 10 ever!  It’s the Power of the River, combined with, literally, the Power of Your Dreams!  Dream it and you will achieve it!
